Big Brother 28 Episode 24 may have marked the beginning of a major shift in the house. The Icons still hold plenty of influence, but Barrett is no longer interested in simply following their plans. By the end of Wednesday night’s episode, he finally sees a real opportunity to weaken the alliance — and Devens may be the one who pays the price.
Yash Sends Haley Home
The episode begins with the final stage of the latest twist. Barrett must choose two houseguests to compete against Haley, with the winner gaining the power to eliminate one of the other two players.
Instead of following Dee and Devens’ preferred plan, Barrett selects Lala and Yash.
That leaves Haley, Lala and Yash fighting for survival in a puzzle competition. Yash comes out on top and earns the sole power to decide who leaves the game.
He chooses Haley.
Her eviction makes her the final houseguest to leave before jury, meaning everyone remaining in the Big Brother 28 house has officially reached the jury phase.

The Icons are disappointed by Haley’s departure, but they also have to be careful about how they respond to Barrett. Pushing him too hard could finally drive him completely away from them.
Taylor quickly recognizes what the new numbers could mean. If Barrett truly joins the other side, the house could potentially become Dee, Devens, Angela and Drew against Barrett, Taylor, Yash, Lala and Melody.
Suddenly, the Icons’ control does not look quite as secure.
Barrett Is Ready to Play His Own Game
Barrett later tells Melody that he is tired of playing like an “Icon fanboy.”
He understands that simply helping powerful players reach the end will not give him a strong argument for winning $750,000. If he wants the jury to respect his game, he needs moves of his own.
The biggest question is whether he is actually prepared to follow through.
Before the house can completely reshape itself, however, another familiar Big Brother visitor arrives.
Zingbot is back.
Zingbot takes shots at nearly everyone, mocking Barrett’s chest, Devens’ skin, Taylor for being boring and Dee for supposedly being a downgrade from Rachel Reilly. Angela gets one of the harsher jokes of the night, while Drew’s hair and relationship with Melody also become targets.
Latrice gets teased about holding onto her youth, while Yash’s haircut does not escape Zingbot’s attention either.
Then it is time to get back to the game.
Drew Wins Head of Household
The Head of Household competition takes place in the Hall of Zing.
Houseguests watch videos featuring Zingbot and answer true-or-false questions based on what they have seen.
Devens starts strongly and briefly takes the lead, but one wrong answer opens the door for several other players.
By the later rounds, Melody, Yash and Drew are battling near the top. Yash eventually takes the lead before Drew and Melody catch him, forcing a three-way tiebreaker.
Drew wins.
With Drew now Head of Household, Taylor, Lala and Yash immediately look like the most obvious nominees.
There is another possibility, though.
Devens offers himself as a pawn.
His reasoning is strategic. Yash is Drew’s main target, and Devens believes volunteering for the block could help create a situation where Yash has fewer opportunities to save himself.
Drew initially sticks with the straightforward plan and nominates Taylor, Lala and Yash.
Yash Wins the Power of Veto
The Power of Veto competition includes Drew, Yash, Taylor, Lala, Dee and Melody.
The houseguests compete in a familiar balancing challenge involving balls, and once again Yash proves difficult to eliminate.
He wins the Power of Veto.
That result creates a major problem for Drew.
With Yash certain to remove himself from the block, Drew needs a replacement nominee. He has already indicated that he does not want to nominate Barrett or Melody, meaning his available options are becoming increasingly limited.
Devens again tells Drew that he is willing to become the pawn.
Barrett immediately likes the idea.
For him, putting Devens on the block creates something that has been missing for most of the season: a genuine chance to remove one of the Icons.
Drew briefly considers putting Melody up instead, which would have shut down Barrett’s opportunity. But at the Power of Veto ceremony, Yash removes himself from the block and Drew ultimately accepts Devens’ offer.
Devens becomes the replacement nominee alongside Taylor and Lala.
Barrett Finally Has His Opening
Devens may believe he is simply helping Drew execute a safe pawn strategy, but Barrett is already looking at the situation differently.
For weeks, he has questioned whether following the Icons is helping his own game. Now one of their strongest members is sitting on the block without Barrett having to make the nomination himself.
If Devens remains vulnerable heading into eviction night, Barrett could finally make the move he has been talking about.
And if other houseguests join him, the Icons could suddenly lose far more than just one member.
What began as Devens volunteering to help Drew target Yash may have accidentally created the biggest opening yet for the rest of the house.
The Icons are still powerful — but for the first time in a while, someone may finally be ready to take the shot.
