Big Brother 28 Week 8 could deliver a major betrayal. Rick Devens, who has spent most of the game closely aligned with Dee Valladares, now finds himself in danger after volunteering to become a replacement nominee. Drew originally nominated LaTrice, Taylor and Yash, but Yash’s Power of Veto win opened the door for Devens to hit the block. That decision could now cost him his game.
The live feeds have shown Dee and Angela discussing whether this is the right moment to cut Devens. Earlier in the week, Dee questioned whether she was trusting him too much and worried that his relationships with Drew and Barrett were becoming too strong. Angela was initially less convinced, but by Wednesday she was willing to vote Devens out if he remains vulnerable after the BB Block Buster.
Devens’ Week 8 Gamble Backfires
Dee appears to want Devens gone without personally voting against him. Her preferred scenario is for Angela to make the move while the blame falls elsewhere, possibly on Barrett. The problem is that Barrett is already considering voting Devens out himself. That means the vote could become far less mysterious than Dee expects.

If Devens loses the BB Block Buster, the numbers look dangerous. Reports suggest the vote could become lopsided, potentially five-to-one or even unanimous. Devens, LaTrice and Taylor still have the Block Buster ahead of them, and one of the three will win safety before the remaining two face eviction.
Dee Faces a Difficult Betrayal
For Dee, the decision is complicated by her relationship with Devens. The two have operated as a tight pair for much of the season, and Devens has previously protected her, including using his Diamond Power of Veto to take her off the block. Sending him to jury would therefore be a huge strategic betrayal and one that could become difficult for Dee to hide.
Angela has suggested that she and Dee could frame a Devens eviction as proof of loyalty to Drew and Barrett. Her argument is that Devens had talked about eventually cutting them, so voting him out could show that Angela and Dee chose Drew and Barrett instead. Dee quickly noticed the weakness in that explanation. If Devens was planning to target Drew and Barrett later, that could also mean he was more loyal to Dee and Angela.
She sees Devens as a dangerous player who may become harder to remove later, but he is also one of her strongest shields. Devens has a strong social game and a reputation as one of the biggest threats to win. If he leaves, attention could shift toward Dee, a former Survivor winner who has already shown she can win competitions and navigate complicated alliances.
Angela, meanwhile, seems more prepared to make the move. She has told Dee that she is willing to vote Devens out even if Dee does not join her. What Angela wants most is reassurance that Dee will support her afterward. Dee has promised to have her back, even if she keeps her own vote on Devens.
Meanwhile, Barrett has also indicated that he is ready to cut Devens if the opportunity is there. His willingness to turn against the veteran power structure could make this eviction a major turning point. Devens may believe he has the relationships needed to survive, but several people he is counting on are quietly discussing his exit.
Everything Comes Down to the Block Buster
Everything still depends on the BB Block Buster. That uncertainty makes Thursday’s competition and vote one of the most important moments of Week 8. If Devens wins, the plan disappears and LaTrice and Taylor would face the vote instead. But if he loses, a player who spent weeks in a strong position could be sent to jury because he volunteered for the block at the wrong time.
For Dee, the consequences could be just as important. Helping orchestrate Devens’ eviction may strengthen her résumé, but it could also remove one of the biggest shields standing between her and the rest of the house. Week 8 may reveal whether cutting Devens becomes Dee’s defining move — or a betrayal she later wishes she had delayed.
