The Week 5 nominations are officially in on Big Brother 28, and LaTrice’s first major decision as Head of Household came with a late change that completely reshaped the plan.
Earlier in the day, it looked like Haley might get a little breathing room after surviving four difficult weeks in the game. LaTrice had considered keeping her off the initial block and potentially using her as a replacement nominee later in the week. That plan changed after Yash stepped in with a different idea.
Yash approached Taylor and LaTrice and argued that Chuk was the bigger obstacle to their plan, especially if he remained off the block and had the opportunity to win the Power of Veto and save Haley. Instead of waiting to nominate Haley later, he pushed for LaTrice to place both Haley and Chuk on the block immediately.

That suggestion ultimately won out.
Big Brother 28 Week 5 Nominations
LaTrice nominated Barrett, Chuk and Haley.
Haley appears to be the primary target heading into the rest of the week, while Chuk gives LaTrice a backup option if the Veto changes things. By putting both of them on the block from the start, LaTrice reduces the possibility of Chuk winning the Veto from the sidelines and using it to protect Haley.
Most of the house appears to understand the plan, but nothing is guaranteed yet. Saturday’s Power of Veto competition could still dramatically change the nominations, and the Block Buster later in the week remains another major wildcard that could disrupt LaTrice’s preferred outcome.
Elsewhere, Mallory lost her Time Capsule chair-spin challenge, which explains her latest punishment costume. She also selected Melody to be tethered to her as part of the punishment.
For now, though, all eyes are on the Veto competition. If the nominations stay the same, LaTrice could be in a strong position to finally send Haley to the eviction vote. But if Haley or Chuk wins the Veto, Week 5 could quickly become much more complicated.
Do you think LaTrice made the right move by putting Haley directly on the block, or should she have kept her original backdoor plan?
