The future of the iconic Big Brother house could be at risk as a major studio deal unfolds in Hollywood. Reports suggest that Netflix is preparing a massive $330 million bid to purchase the historic Radford Studio Center in Los Angeles — the very location where Big Brother has been filmed for decades.
Although the house appears real on TV, it’s actually a custom-built set constructed inside a soundstage. Every season, the interior is redesigned with a new theme, but the physical location has remained the same for over 20 years, making it one of the most consistent filming setups in reality television.
If Netflix successfully buys the studio lot, CBS — the network behind Big Brother — could lose access to the facility. This would force producers to either negotiate a deal to stay, relocate to a new studio, or rebuild the entire house somewhere else.

Relocating wouldn’t be simple. The Big Brother format depends on a highly controlled environment, including complex camera systems, control rooms, and the infrastructure needed to run 24/7 live feeds. Recreating all of that in a new location would be a major undertaking.
The situation stems partly from CBS’s earlier decision to sell the property in 2021 as part of a strategy to focus more on content rather than owning real estate. Now, that move may come back to impact one of its most iconic shows.
While nothing has been officially confirmed yet, the timing is critical. Season 28 of Big Brother is expected to begin filming in June 2026, and it could potentially be the last season shot at the longtime studio if the deal goes through.
For now, the fate of the famous Big Brother house — and whether it stays, moves, or gets rebuilt — remains uncertain.
