Big Brother 28 Players Plot Against the Vets — Then Immediately Rat Each Other Out

The Big Brother 28 house may have a “rat infestation,” but this time the rats are not the problem — they are the strategy. The returning reality TV stars have become the cheese, and nearly everyone in the house seems determined to chase after them.

In a normal Big Brother season, an infestation would mean calling exterminators and clearing the house. But when it comes to returning players, the situation is different. Veteran houseguests often enter the game with advantages that make them difficult to eliminate. Whether it comes through fan support, production twists, or built-in protection, returning players usually have a major edge over newcomers.

History has shown that Big Brother veterans often receive early-game benefits, from special powers and safety advantages to simply having a loyal fan base ready to defend them. Many new players understand that working with returning players can be beneficial — at least temporarily. However, the longer they wait to make a move, the harder it becomes to remove them.

This season, some of the newer players have started recognizing the danger. LaTrice, Mallory, Yash, and Taylor have all discussed the possibility of targeting the returning reality stars before they gain complete control of the game.

LaTrice made the strongest move by organizing a conversation with Drew, Barrett, Yash, Mallory, and Melody about eventually turning against the veterans after Chuk and Haley leave. On paper, it looked like the beginning of a new player uprising. However, the plan quickly became compromised.

Barrett and Drew have strong connections with Devens, Drew, and Angela, making it almost inevitable that the information would eventually reach the veterans. By Tuesday morning, they had already revealed the discussions.

The bigger surprise was that LaTrice and Taylor also gave warnings to the returning players. LaTrice informed Angela that there were conversations happening, framing it as an attempt to protect her. Taylor also spoke with Devens, downplaying the plan and suggesting that the idea came more from players like Melody and Mallory rather than being a coordinated attack.

Now the returning players have not only benefited from their reputation, production twists, and fan loyalty — they are also receiving inside information from the very players who should be trying to defeat them.

There is still plenty of game left to play, and the new houseguests have time to change the direction of the season. But if they continue protecting the veterans instead of making a move, they could find themselves fighting for a win against players who were given an advantage from the moment they entered the house.
