Episode 14 of Big Brother 28 picked up in the aftermath of Lyric’s shocking eviction, and the blindside immediately sent the house into chaos. With only three votes cast to evict Melody, several Houseguests were left questioning who had betrayed whom, and suddenly some of the season’s strongest alliances did not look nearly as secure.
Kamu was among the most unsettled. He knew where his own vote went, but after realizing members of his alliance may have gone against the plan, he began questioning who he could really trust. With Yash and Chuk also unsure of where they stood, the upcoming Head of Household competition became even more important.
And this week, the Houseguests were facing one of Big Brother’s most famous endurance competitions: The Wall.
VOTE: Big Brother 28 Time Capsule Round 5: Who Will Win the Vote?
Angela had a very short stay in the competition, falling after just 28 seconds. From there, the challenge became a battle of endurance as the remaining players tried to hold on.
Taylor dropped at 34:03, followed by Barrett at 46:24 and Devens at 48:53. Dee fell at 54:38, while Melody lasted just over an hour. Mallory was eliminated at 1:13, and Yash followed at 1:16.
That left Drew, Kamu and Lala fighting for the win.
Drew put together an impressive performance before finally dropping at 1:23, leaving Kamu and Lala as the final two. With another Kamu HOH looking increasingly possible, the two began discussing a potential deal. Lala asked Kamu to promise that he would not nominate her if he won.
Taylor, however, encouraged Lala to keep fighting, reminding her that she was on the verge of making Big Brother history.
Moments later, Kamu slipped from the wall.
Lala had won Head of Household.
At 58 years old, Lala became the oldest Houseguest to win the Wall competition, turning an already dramatic night into a historic one.
Her victory also represented something much bigger inside the game. After weeks of one side holding significant power, Lala’s win created an opportunity for the balance of the house to finally shift. The problem was that nobody knew exactly what she planned to do with that power.
Before the nomination strategy took center stage, the episode revealed the latest BB Time Capsule result.
Mallory had won the viewer vote, earning the chance to compete for either a prize or punishment. Unfortunately for Mallory, she ended up with the punishment. She received the Adam and Eve punishment and chose Melody to join her, forcing the pair to remain tethered together while wearing their costume.
With the Time Capsule reveal complete, attention returned to Lala’s HOH plans.
Initially, Lala told Taylor that Devens was her main target. She viewed him as one of the most dangerous players in the house and believed that allowing him to reach the end could be a major mistake.
Taylor pushed back on that plan and instead tried to move Lala toward targeting Haley. That discussion initially brought Drew, Barrett and Kamu into consideration as possible nominees, with Haley potentially being saved for a replacement nomination.
The situation changed again as the fallout from Lyric’s eviction continued.
Kamu and Yash trusted each other’s accounts of the vote, but they remained suspicious of Chuk. Their doubts eventually reached Taylor, who took the information back to Lala and suggested that Chuk could be a better nomination than Kamu.
Kamu then made a direct pitch of his own.
He told Lala that he no longer considered himself loyal to the people he had previously been working with because he felt betrayed by the blindside. Kamu said he was now prepared to work with Lala and argued that nominating both Chuk and Haley would make for a huge HOH move.
He also warned Lala that Chuk had supposedly said he would nominate her if he ever became Head of Household.
That information appeared to make an impact.
Rather than worrying about saving a major target for a possible replacement nomination, Lala decided she wanted to put the biggest threats directly on the block.
At the nomination ceremony, she officially nominated Barrett, Haley and Chuk.
Lala made it clear afterward that Barrett was primarily being used as a pawn. Her true target was Haley, with Chuk positioned as the backup option if the week did not go according to plan.
She ended the ceremony with a message that perfectly summed up her approach:
“Game on, y’all.”
Lala may have entered the week as one of the more unpredictable players in the house, but her first HOH showed that she was not interested in playing safely.
Now the biggest question is whether keeping Kamu off the block will prove to be a smart move — or one that Lala may eventually regret.
With the Power of Veto still capable of changing everything, Week 5 is far from settled.
