Big Brother 28: Lyric’s Veto Plan Leaves Jason’s Game Hanging in the Balance

Lyric’s Power of Veto win is no longer the biggest story in the Big Brother 28 house—it’s what she plans to do with it.

After claiming the Week 3 Veto during yesterday’s competition, Lyric is widely expected to use the Power of Veto on herself, removing herself from the nomination block and forcing Head of Household Kamu to name a replacement nominee.

For Lyric, the decision is an easy one. Saving herself keeps her game alive while leaving the rest of the house to deal with the fallout of Kamu’s next move.

That fallout appears to be heading in Jason’s direction.

From conversations around the house, Kamu’s original plan doesn’t seem to have changed. If Lyric comes off the block, Jason is expected to take her place as the replacement nominee. While nothing becomes official until the Veto Ceremony, the house atmosphere suggests that’s the outcome most players are preparing for.

The mood after the competition reflected just how important the result was. Houseguests returned from the challenge still buzzing about the outcome, while Mallory appeared dejected after coming up short. With Lyric now holding all the power, strategic conversations quickly shifted from who won the Veto to what her win means for everyone’s game.

For Jason, the road ahead looks increasingly difficult. If he does become the replacement nominee, he’ll once again need to rely on the Block Buster competition to keep his game alive. Failing that, he could find himself facing a house vote with the odds stacked against him.

As the Veto Ceremony approaches, there are few signs that Lyric will make a surprise move. Unless something changes over the next couple of days, her Veto will almost certainly be used on herself, setting off the chain of events that could leave Jason fighting for survival.

The Week 3 power structure remains firmly in Kamu’s hands—for now—but Lyric’s victory has ensured that the next move belongs to her. What happens once she uses that Veto could define the rest of the week.
