Wednesday night’s episode of Big Brother 28 delivered plenty of drama, featuring explosive confrontations, emotional conversations, a fake showmance breakup, and a Power of Veto decision that could completely reshape the game.
The episode picked up immediately after the chaotic nomination ceremony, but the fireworks were far from over.
Angela refused to let the meeting end quietly, calling out Jason for what she described as his messy gameplay. The two exchanged insults as Angela accused him of playing with her emotions. Haley then jumped into the argument, claiming Jason was targeting all of his female allies. Jason fired back by calling Haley a “chaos demon,” escalating the tension even further.
The drama continued when Angela revealed that Rome had never tried to protect LaTrice during the safety discussions. Rome admitted he had to narrow down his choices and apologized, but the damage had already been done. Only then was the nomination ceremony finally brought to a close.

In the Diary Room, Devens made it clear that Rome remained his true target for the week.
The arguments didn’t stop there.
Before the houseguests had even left the dining table, Rome and Haley found themselves in another heated exchange. Rome called Haley “unbearable” and told her to stop being a “snarky b*tch” before the confrontation eventually cooled down.
Once the shouting ended, the emotions took over.
Melody broke down in tears, feeling like she was playing an awful game. Angela was still emotional after everything that had happened with Jason, but the two eventually talked things through. Jason apologized for his behavior, admitted he had been a “messy b*tch,” and the pair hugged it out, acknowledging things would probably remain awkward between them.
Elsewhere, LaTrice was devastated after learning Rome had never fought to keep her safe. Feeling embarrassed and blindsided, she leaned on Taylor for advice. Taylor encouraged her to stay under the radar while the rest of the house continued tearing itself apart, and LaTrice agreed that laying low was her best strategy.
Even Rome found himself overwhelmed with emotion later in the episode. He apologized directly to LaTrice for betraying her, leading to another emotional conversation and a heartfelt Diary Room session.
Meanwhile, Devens tried repairing his relationship with Melody after damaging her game earlier in the week. He suggested she could work with him and his alliance moving forward and assured her he didn’t believe she was the target this week. Melody admitted the conversation helped ease her concerns, but she still wasn’t ready to trust him.
It was then time to draw players for the Power of Veto competition.
Joining nominees Lyric, Melody and Jason were Head of Household Devens, Angela and Barrett. The draw couldn’t have gone much worse for Rome, as nearly everyone competing seemed likely to use the veto and give Devens the opportunity to nominate him.
The competition itself required players to race for puzzle pieces before assembling a large puzzle. After several struggled early, Devens pulled ahead to claim the Power of Veto.
With the veto in hand, attention quickly turned to who would be removed from the block.
While Melody appeared to be the obvious choice, Lyric and Rome attempted one last desperate move. The pair staged a fake breakup, hoping Devens would believe Lyric was no longer loyal to Rome. Lyric even began openly flirting with other houseguests to sell the act, although Drew remained skeptical.
Lyric later met privately with Devens, insisting she was finished with Rome and asking him to save her instead. She promised she would never target him and pledged her loyalty moving forward.
Surprisingly, Devens admitted he found her story believable. While he recognized she could easily be lying, he also confessed he trusted Lyric more than Melody at that moment.
When it came time for the Veto Ceremony, Devens made one of the biggest moves of the season so far.
He used the Power of Veto on Lyric before following through with his long-standing plan by nominating Rome as the replacement nominee.
That leaves Rome, Jason and Melody battling for survival, with one of them set to leave the Big Brother house following Thursday night’s Block Buster competition.
Now that Episode 6 is in the books, all eyes turn to eviction night. Will Devens’ bold decision strengthen his position in the game, or will saving Lyric come back to haunt him?
