Big Brother 25’s Red thinks Cameron will avenge him: ‘A lot of his choices will be based on what happened with me’

In the first split vote of the season, Red Utley was evicted 8-2 from “Big Brother 25” on Thursday after a topsy-turvy week that saw him have the highest of highs (his birthday celebration) and the lowest of lows (his bromantic breakup with Cameron — yes, even more so than his eviction). Jared had shrewdly turned Red against Cameron by telling him that Cam had thrown him under the bus, which wasn’t true. Red was initially safe as renom Jag was going to get the boot (again) with no power to save him this time. But that all changed when Red wanted to clear the air with Cam, prompting everyone, save Cam and Bowie, to flip.

“I kind of predicted this. My birthday week is always a rough one,” Red said in an exclusive interview with Gold Derby. “I think I have a good 360 days a year, so those five around my birthday are always, for some reason, pretty terrible. So it was sort of expected, I think.”

Red also revealed to the source that he wasn’t terribly shocked about the flip because of various convos on Wednesday and a comment from Felicia Thursday morning. She asked him if he was going to take a cupcake home with him. Yikes.

“I knew there was something going on. The morning started off weird and even the day before, there were a couple of groupings where people were talking and it looked suspicious,” he shared. “And then with the cupcake comment, it seemed very pointed. I don’t think it was a slip-up. I think I even said so. I think it surprised Bowie Jane too. I did leave the cupcake and I didn’t take it, but it wasn’t because I didn’t want to take it home. It was just because it was past its prime.”

Had Red stayed, Felicia “would’ve definitely been my next target.” He said. But as the new HOH, Cameron can avenge his fellow Chiller’s eviction, and Red believes he will. “I think a lot of his choices will be based on what happened with me, especially now that I know that what was said [by Jared] wasn’t exactly truthful,” Red says. “I’d say he would probably target Izzy, but who knows what’s gotten in his hear and what he’s being told now that I’m gone. It’ll be interesting to watch for sure, but I’m definitely rooting for my boy.”
