Big Brother Hits 1,000 Episodes Tonight — Here’s What to Expect

Big Brother reaches a major television milestone tonight, Thursday, August 27, with its historic 1,000th episode.

The special episode will air for 90 minutes from 8:00–9:30 p.m. ET on CBS, combining the usual Week 7 game action with a celebration of more than two decades of Big Brother history.

Former Houseguests Are Returning

CBS has confirmed that fan-favorite former houseguests will make surprise appearances during the episode.

Some of those appearances will also be connected to interactive fan voting, giving viewers a role in parts of the celebration.

The identities of all the returning players have not been revealed in advance, which should leave several surprises for the live show.

Big Brother Will Look Back at 26 Years of History

The episode is also expected to revisit some of the biggest moments from the show’s long run.

Viewers can expect flashbacks to memorable houseguests, competitions, blindsides, alliances and unforgettable moments from across 26 years of Big Brother.

The milestone is especially significant because Big Brother is being celebrated as the first primetime television series to reach 1,000 episodes.

The Biggest Twist of the Summer Is Coming

Perhaps the biggest reason fans will want to watch is a new twist that CBS is promoting as “the biggest twist of the summer.”

Details have been kept secret ahead of the broadcast.

That leaves plenty of questions about whether the twist will affect only tonight’s episode or completely change the direction of the game heading into the final stretch of Big Brother 28.

Week 7 Eviction Still Takes Center Stage

Despite the celebration, tonight is still an important eviction night.

Drew, Taylor and Mallory are facing danger heading into the BB Block Buster, which will determine who remains on the block for the live vote.

The eviction has already become unpredictable, especially with talk of a possible vote flip against Drew.

That means the 1,000th episode could deliver both nostalgia and one of the season’s biggest game moves.

After the vote, Julie Chen Moonves will also sit down with the evicted houseguest for the usual post-eviction interview.

A Huge Night for Big Brother Fans

Between returning houseguests, fan voting, classic moments, the Week 7 eviction and a mystery twist, tonight’s episode is shaping up to be much more than a regular Thursday show.

And with CBS keeping several details secret, the biggest surprise of the night may still be coming.

What do you think Big Brother’s “biggest twist of the summer” will be?
