Big Brother 28 Spoilers: Was Devens’ Diamond POV the Best Move or Did He Reveal Too Much Power?

Rick Devens just made one of the biggest moves of Big Brother 28, but whether it was brilliant or potentially dangerous for his long-term game remains up for debate. After Yash decided not to use the regular Power of Veto, Devens stepped in with his Diamond Power of Veto, pulled Dee Valladares off the block and named Kamu Kirk as the replacement nominee. In one move, Devens protected one of his closest allies and completely changed the direction of Yash’s HOH.

From a strategic standpoint, it is easy to see why Devens made the move. Dee was in real danger sitting beside Angela and Haley, and Devens had a power specifically designed to take control away from the HOH. By saving Dee and putting Kamu on the block, he not only protected the veteran side of the house but also forced the other players to deal with a nomination they never planned for. Yash may still be HOH, but Devens effectively took control of the most important moment of the week.

The problem for Devens is that everyone now knows exactly how much influence he is willing to use to protect his allies. Saving Dee makes his loyalties difficult to hide, and putting Kamu on the block could give the newer players even more reason to unite against him. A powerful move can earn respect in the Big Brother house, but it can also make someone look like the biggest threat in the game. Devens may have won this battle while making his path to the end much harder.

There is also the question of whether Devens needed to make such an aggressive move this early. Holding onto the Diamond POV would have kept opponents guessing and given him another weapon for a future week when he himself might be in danger. Instead, he used it to save Dee, showing the house that he is willing to risk his own safety for his alliance. If the veterans lose power soon, Devens could easily become the first name mentioned as a target.

Still, if Kamu leaves this week and Dee survives, Devens will have accomplished exactly what he wanted. He protected an ally, disrupted Yash’s HOH and potentially weakened the opposition — all without winning HOH himself. That is the kind of move that can reshape an entire season.

So was Devens’ Diamond Power of Veto the best move of Big Brother 28 so far, or did he expose too much of his game too soon? The answer may depend on what happens next. If the veterans regain control, Devens could look like a mastermind. But if the rest of the house comes together against him, this could be remembered as the moment he made himself the biggest target in the game.
