After being canceled in 2024, Big Brother Canada is making an unexpected comeback. Bell Media has announced that the beloved reality competition series will return in 2027, marking a new chapter for the franchise after a two-year absence.
The revival will air on CTV and Crave, with production scheduled to begin in Montréal in the spring of 2027.
One of the biggest changes involves the show’s host. Andrea Bain, known for her work on The Social, has been tapped to lead the new era of Big Brother Canada. Bain shared her excitement following the announcement, calling the opportunity a dream come true and expressing her enthusiasm for joining one of reality television’s most recognizable franchises.
The original version of Big Brother Canada aired for 12 seasons between 2013 and 2024 and was hosted by Arisa Cox, who also served as an executive producer. Over the years, the series built a loyal fan base and became one of Canada’s most successful reality competition shows.
However, the franchise faced increasing challenges in its later years. A controversial decision to replace the show’s popular live feeds with Digital Dailies drew criticism from many longtime viewers. Combined with broader business considerations, the series was ultimately canceled after its twelfth season.
The reboot will be produced by Entourage, the company behind the French-language Big Brother Célébrités, in partnership with Bell Media. While casting details have not yet been revealed, the announcement has already generated excitement among fans eager to see the franchise return.
The revival also comes as part of a broader Big Brother expansion for Bell Media. Future seasons of the American version of Big Brother are also expected to air on CTV and Crave beginning in 2027, further strengthening the network’s connection to the global reality-TV brand.
