Big Brother 28: Taylor Admits She Bluffed Devens — And Drew Paid the Price

Rick Devens won Big Brother 28, but one of the biggest stories from finale night may be how Taylor Brown changed his final decision with a threat she later admitted was mostly a bluff.

Going into the Final 3, Rick appeared seriously prepared to take Drew Campbell to the Final 2. But Taylor made one last pitch that forced him to reconsider.

She warned Rick that if he chose Drew over her, he could lose her jury vote and potentially several others. For Rick, that argument hit especially hard because of his history on Survivor, where he had previously fallen short after making decisions that were not always best for his endgame.

Rick later explained that Taylor’s warning made him question whether taking Drew was simply too dangerous. Instead of risking another late-game mistake, he cut Drew and took Taylor to the Final 2.

The move worked.

Rick went on to win Big Brother 28 by a decisive 6–1 jury vote.

But after the finale, Taylor revealed something that makes the entire situation even more interesting: her threat was largely a bluff.

Taylor admitted she probably still would have voted for Rick even if he had evicted her and taken Drew to the end. In other words, Rick may not actually have been in as much danger of losing her jury vote as she made him believe.

And there was another major revelation.

Taylor said that if she had won the final Head of Household competition, she would have taken Drew to the Final 2 instead of Rick.

That means her last-minute pitch may have completely changed the outcome of the season.

Had Rick ignored Taylor and taken Drew, the jury vote could have been much closer. Had Taylor won the final HOH, Rick may not have reached the Final 2 at all.

Instead, Taylor successfully convinced Rick that Drew was the bigger danger, Rick made the safer move, and Drew became the final juror.

It is one of those Big Brother moments that becomes even more fascinating after the season ends.

Taylor did not win the game, but her final pitch may have been one of the most influential moves of the entire finale.

And for Drew, the irony is brutal: the player who planned to take him to the Final 2 may also have been the person whose bluff convinced Rick to send him home.
