Big Brother 28 Week 9 is officially locked in after Yash decided not to use the Power of Veto, leaving Dee Valladares, Angela Murray and Rick Devens on the block.
The decision was widely expected, but it still marks a major moment in the game. Head of Household Barrett took his shot by nominating all three Icons/Vets together, and Yash has now allowed that plan to move forward unchanged.
Devens had spent the days leading up to the ceremony trying to convince Yash to save him. He pitched the idea that they could work together as two major threats and promised that Barrett would be his target if he survived.

Yash listened, but ultimately decided there was little benefit in using the Veto and creating more enemies for himself.
Now Dee, Angela and Devens must head into the BB Block Buster, where one of them will earn safety before the remaining two face the eviction vote.
And that is where things get much more interesting.
Based on the current live-feed conversations, Dee or Devens appears most likely to leave if Angela survives the Block Buster. Angela is generally viewed as the smaller strategic and competition threat compared with the two Survivor veterans. If Angela wins safety, the house would then be forced to choose between two of the season’s biggest players.
The three nominees are not waiting quietly for Thursday.
Angela has already approached Yash and Taylor about potentially working together moving forward, with Barrett and Drew emerging as possible future targets. Dee and Angela have also discussed keeping Dee over Devens if that becomes the final matchup, believing Yash and Taylor could be important votes.
The Veto ceremony also appears to have added more tension to the house. The three Vets had planned to make their speeches memorable and call out Barrett, and after the feeds returned, Barrett said he expected them to make a scene. Melody was particularly irritated afterward, while her frustration with Drew added another crack to the already complicated Newbie group.
That could become important after this eviction.
Barrett may have succeeded in finally putting the Icons in serious danger, but surviving members are already talking about revenge. At the same time, the Newbies are not completely united, with concerns growing about Yash’s competition strength and Drew’s loyalties.
For now, however, Barrett has accomplished exactly what he wanted.
Yash did not use the Veto. Dee, Angela and Devens remain nominated. And for the first time this season, the Icons cannot all escape the week together.
The next question is no longer whether Barrett’s big move will land.
It is which Icon will pay the price for it?
