Drew may have entered Thursday night’s Big Brother 28 eviction episode in serious danger, but one clutch competition win completely changed the outcome of Week 7.
After winning the BB Block Buster and removing himself from the chopping block, Drew watched from safety as Mallory Aurichio was evicted from the Big Brother house by a 6–2 vote, ending a chaotic week that nearly resulted in a major blindside.
Drew’s Block Buster Win Changes Everything
Heading into the live eviction, Drew was sitting on the block alongside Mallory and Taylor.
What Drew may not have realized was just how vulnerable he had become.
In the hours leading up to the eviction, Barrett had been working to organize a possible vote flip against Drew. The plan gained momentum as several houseguests became frustrated with Dee’s HOH decisions and the growing influence of the Icons alliance.
With enough votes potentially coming together, Drew appeared to be in real danger of becoming the next person sent out of the house.
But then came the BB Block Buster.
Drew defeated Mallory and Taylor in the competition, automatically earning safety and removing himself from the block.
In one moment, the developing blindside was dead.
Instead of deciding between Drew, Mallory and Taylor, the house was left with just two choices: Mallory or Taylor.
Mallory Evicted in a 6–2 Vote
Once Drew was safe, the numbers quickly turned against Mallory.
When the votes were revealed, Mallory was evicted by a decisive 6–2 vote.
Angela, Drew, Yash, Haley, Rick Devens and LaTrice voted to evict Mallory.
Only Barrett and Melody voted to evict Taylor, making them the only two houseguests who attempted to keep Mallory in the game.
For Mallory, the result brought a frustrating end to a week that began with her believing she was in a relatively safe position.
Dee’s HOH Move Comes Back Into Focus
Mallory’s eviction can ultimately be traced back to Dee’s controversial decision to put her on the block.
After LaTrice won the Power of Veto and removed herself from danger, Dee was forced to name a replacement nominee. Despite Mallory believing she had protection through their relationships in the house, Dee chose Mallory.
The move immediately created tension.
Mallory had reportedly felt comfortable enough with Dee that she did not view her as an immediate threat. Instead, Dee’s decision left Mallory fighting for her Big Brother life.
And after her eviction, Mallory made it clear that Dee’s move was one of the biggest disappointments of her game.
Barrett’s Blindside Attempt Falls Apart
Perhaps the biggest strategic development of the week was Barrett’s willingness to turn against Drew.
Barrett had been pushing for a vote flip that could have dramatically reshaped the house.
Had Drew lost the Block Buster, the eviction could have looked very different.
Instead, Drew’s victory forced Barrett and his allies to abandon their original target.
Yash and LaTrice were ultimately unwilling to vote Taylor out once Drew was no longer an option, leaving Barrett and Melody without enough support to save Mallory.
The failed flip could now have major consequences.
Drew knows where at least some of the houseguests stand, while the divisions between the remaining players are becoming increasingly difficult to hide.
Drew Could Have Saved His Entire Game
For Drew, this was more than just another competition victory.
It may have been a game-saving win.
Had he remained on the block, the numbers were moving dangerously close to a possible eviction.
Instead, Drew took his fate into his own hands, won safety and survived Week 7 without needing the house to vote for him.
The victory also gives him valuable information moving forward.
Barrett’s willingness to target him and Melody’s frustration following Mallory’s eviction could signal that the alliances Drew once trusted are beginning to fracture.
Mallory’s Exit Leaves the House Divided
Mallory’s eviction may have been decided by a comfortable 6–2 margin, but the vote does not tell the full story.
Week 7 exposed several cracks inside the Big Brother 28 house.
Barrett was willing to lead a campaign against Drew.
Melody sided with Barrett by voting to keep Mallory.
Dee’s decision to nominate Mallory damaged relationships.
And Drew’s survival could strengthen the Icons while simultaneously pushing their opponents closer together.
The result is a house that appears far less united than the final eviction vote suggests.
Mallory is gone, but the battle lines she leaves behind could shape the next phase of the season.
What Happens Next on Big Brother 28?
Normally, the houseguests would immediately begin preparing for another Head of Household competition.
But following Big Brother’s historic 1,000th episode, the game is about to look very different.
A new medieval-themed twist is set to take over the house, temporarily replacing the normal HOH, nomination, Power of Veto and Block Buster structure.
That means the players may not have much time to deal with the fallout from Mallory’s eviction before another threat emerges.
For Drew, however, one thing is certain:
When his Big Brother 28 game was potentially hanging by a thread, he won exactly when he needed to.
Mallory became the latest houseguest evicted, Barrett’s attempted blindside collapsed, and Drew survived a Week 7 vote that could easily have ended very differently.
