Week 7 of Big Brother 28 has taken another messy turn following LaTrice “LaLa” Verrett’s Power of Veto victory, with Dee Valladares now preparing to make a replacement nomination and tensions between several houseguests reaching a new level.
But while Dee works through one of the biggest decisions of her second Head of Household reign, one of the most explosive conversations on the live feeds had almost nothing to do with the immediate eviction.
Melody Morris made it clear just how strained her relationship with Haley Thogmartin has become when she discussed the possibility of the two eventually ending up together in the jury house.
“I don’t want to live in no f—ing jury house with Haley. And Haley doesn’t either. Dead ass, I’ll quit. I’m not even joking,” Melody said.
The statement came during a conversation with Mallory Aurichio as the pair discussed the next HOH competition, possible targets and what the game could look like once the jury phase begins.

Mallory did not exactly rush to defend Haley, either, telling Melody that she would rather live with Taylor Brown than Haley in the jury house. The exchange showed that even with the house focused on this week’s nominations, personal tensions could become an increasingly important part of the game as the season moves deeper toward the jury stage.
LaLa’s Veto Win Forces Dee to Show Her Hand
Dee originally nominated Taylor, Drew Campbell and LaLa for eviction. LaLa then won the Week 7 Power of Veto, her second competition victory of the season, and is expected to use it to remove herself from the block.
That leaves Dee needing to name a replacement nominee at the Veto ceremony.
Before the competition, Drew appeared to be in significant danger. However, his position improved dramatically after nominations, and attention began moving elsewhere.
Once LaLa secured the Veto, Rick Devens pushed the idea of putting Mallory on the block. He discussed the possibility with Angela Murray and Dee, arguing that Mallory was playing the middle and could become dangerous to their games.
Dee quickly warmed to the idea
Dee discussed Mallory as the replacement with Haley shortly after the Veto competition, with Haley supporting the move. By that point, Dee had seemingly shifted from simply using Mallory as a pawn to viewing her as the potential target for the week.
That is a significant change considering Mallory had recently been part of the newly formed Mosh Pit alliance with Dee, Devens, Angela, Barrett, Drew and Melody.
The alliance may barely have had time to settle before its own members began targeting one another.
Drew Wants Yash on the Block
Drew, meanwhile, has been campaigning for a very different replacement nominee.
After LaLa won the Veto, Drew pushed Dee to nominate Yash Patel, telling her that he wanted the opportunity to compete against Yash.
There is one major complication: Dee has already made a strategic investment in keeping Yash around.
Earlier in the week, Dee finally used her $5,000 BB Bribe on Yash. The agreement requires Yash to keep Dee, Angela and Devens safe the next time he wins HOH.
That does not technically prevent Dee from nominating Yash herself, but she has shown little interest in immediately destroying the deal she just paid $5,000 to create.
Dee told Drew before the Veto competition that nominating Yash would be a bad move, although Drew was apparently unaware of the full bribe arrangement at the time. After LaLa won, he continued pushing Yash as the replacement.
Instead, Dee appears ready to protect both Yash and Haley — leaving someone from her own alliance vulnerable.
Mallory Learns the Bad News
By Sunday evening, the Mallory plan was no longer simply being discussed behind closed doors.
Dee eventually sat Mallory down and acknowledged that the strange atmosphere Mallory had noticed around the house was exactly what she feared.
Mallory pleaded her case, telling Dee she would not nominate her if she won HOH. Dee explained that her choices outside the Mosh Pit were essentially Haley and Yash, but she believed Haley would not nominate her and she had already established her arrangement with Yash.
That pushed Dee toward looking inside her own alliance for the replacement.
Dee had informed Mallory that she would probably become the replacement nominee once LaLa uses the Veto.
Unless Dee changes her mind before the ceremony, Mallory is now expected to replace LaLa on the block.
That would leave Taylor, Drew and Mallory facing the BB Blockbuster, with one of them earning safety before the live eviction vote.
Haley Is Safe — But Her Name Is Everywhere
Perhaps the strangest part of the day was Haley’s position.
She was not nominated. She did not play in the Veto competition. And Dee currently appears reluctant to use her as the replacement nominee.
Yet Haley’s name continued surfacing in conversation after conversation.
Dee spoke with her about the Mallory plan. Drew has discussed targeting her later. Mallory questioned Dee’s interest in potentially bringing Haley closer strategically. And Melody made the most dramatic statement of all when imagining having to spend weeks with Haley in the jury house.
Haley may therefore be safe from Dee this week, but she remains one of the biggest sources of tension in the house.
And with players already thinking about the next HOH — and apparently even who they are willing to share the jury house with — Week 7 may end up having consequences far beyond Thursday’s eviction.
For now, LaLa appears set to save herself, Mallory is the expected replacement nominee, and Dee’s rapidly changing target has turned what looked like a straightforward HOH into another unpredictable week of Big Brother 28.
