Wednesday night’s episode of Big Brother 28 delivered a Power of Veto competition built around poisoned wine, but the real toxicity came from inside the house.
With alliances beginning to crack, trust disappearing, and several players quietly plotting against their own allies, Episode 12 set the stage for a messy Week 4 eviction.
The episode picked up immediately after Haley nominated Melody, Drew, and Taylor.
Haley explained that she was tired of Melody’s “mean girl” behavior, but Taylor remained her preferred target because evicting her would create the least amount of blood on Haley’s hands. Drew had been nominated as a pawn, partly because Haley wanted to keep him under control.

Drew was confused by the decision. He could not understand why Haley would nominate someone from her own alliance, while Melody appeared unsurprised to see her name on the block.
Taylor, meanwhile, declared that the house had underestimated her and said she was officially entering “beast mode.”
Taylor Confronts Haley
Taylor quickly approached Haley and asked why she had been nominated.
Haley claimed the decision was connected to Taylor laughing while Jason was banging the teapot. Taylor immediately challenged that explanation, pointing out that several other houseguests had also been laughing.
Haley struggled to defend her reasoning, and the conversation made it clear that players outside her alliance were becoming increasingly frustrated with her.
Elsewhere, Lyric and Kamu discussed the possibility of working with the side of the house that had been winning competitions and gaining power.
Kamu later brought the idea to Haley and suggested that Drew should no longer be treated as a pawn. Instead, he proposed targeting Drew and replacing him within their group with Lyric.
Haley admitted she was open to sending Drew home, but she had no interest in bringing Lyric into the alliance.
Drew Becomes a Bigger Target
Drew’s own comments did little to improve his position.
During a conversation with Devens, Drew said that being nominated by Haley was not necessarily a bad thing because it would give him an excuse to nominate her later.
Devens was alarmed by the remark. He began to see Drew not only as a liability, but also as a direct threat to his game.
When Devens shared his concerns with Dee and Angela, they agreed. Drew’s relationships with the other side of the house had become dangerous, and the group began seriously considering blindsiding one of their own.
Their plan was simple: if Drew failed to win either the Power of Veto or the BB Block Buster, they would vote him out.
Haley and Chuk also appeared willing to support that plan.
At the same time, Lyric continued trying to find a new home in the house. She repeatedly pushed Haley to let her work with their side, but Haley remained uninterested.
Dee later told Barrett that Haley was actually targeting Drew. That information immediately made Barrett nervous, as he began wondering whether he could become the next person pushed out of the alliance.
Drew eventually checked in with Haley, and she reassured him that he was still only a pawn. Although he was clearly uneasy, he had little choice but to trust her and focus on winning the veto.
Power of Veto Players Are Chosen
Haley, Melody, Drew, and Taylor were joined in the competition by Mallory and Chuk.
Melody selected Mallory through Houseguest’s Choice, while Haley drew Chuk’s name.
The competition was hosted by Morgan from the previous season and featured a murder-mystery theme.
The houseguests took turns offering glasses of wine to one another. Each player had to determine whether the drink they received had been poisoned. After receiving two poisoned glasses, a player was eliminated. The last person remaining would win the Power of Veto.
The Houseguests Pick Their Poison
Drew began by targeting Taylor, but his plan failed. Drew ended up drinking the poisoned wine himself and lost one of his two lives.
Melody then selected Chuk, who drank the poisoned glass and also dropped to one remaining life.
Mallory was forced to target Haley, but Haley correctly avoided the poisoned wine. Mallory instead lost one of her own lives.
Taylor then went after Mallory and successfully poisoned her, making Mallory the first player eliminated.
Chuk targeted Melody next. Melody drank the poisoned wine and fell to her final life.
Drew then offered a glass to Haley, but once again his move backfired. Drew ended up with the poisoned drink and was eliminated from the competition.
Haley went after Melody, but Haley drank the poison herself and dropped to one remaining life.
Chuk then targeted Taylor. Taylor drank the poisoned wine, meaning every remaining player was now down to a single life.
Chuk offered wine to Melody again, and this time she was eliminated.
Haley then challenged Taylor, but Haley once again ended up drinking the poison and was knocked out of the competition.
That left Taylor and Chuk as the final two players.
In the last round, Taylor offered Chuk the final glass. Chuk drank the poisoned wine, giving Taylor the Power of Veto.
Taylor Wins the Veto
Taylor’s victory forced Haley to make another difficult decision.
Haley was frustrated because she now had to name a replacement nominee, adding even more blood to her hands.
Her preferred replacement was Lyric.
When Haley shared the plan with Kamu and Chuk, Kamu pushed back. He argued that Mallory was a greater danger because she wanted to target them, while Lyric was actively trying to work with their group.
Haley was not persuaded, and the disagreement became tense. The conversation suggested that the Red Corner alliance may not be as united as it once appeared.
Lyric’s Final Pitch Backfires
Lyric made one final attempt to save herself by warning Haley that Mallory planned to nominate Chuk and Kamu.
Rather than helping her case, the pitch only made Haley trust her less.
Haley saw Lyric’s willingness to expose her closest allies as proof that she lacked loyalty. If Lyric was prepared to turn on the people closest to her, Haley believed she could eventually do the same to anyone else.
By that point, Haley had already made up her mind.
At the veto ceremony, Taylor used the Power of Veto to remove herself from the block. Haley then named Lyric as the replacement nominee.
That left Lyric, Drew, and Melody facing the BB Block Buster.
The outcome of that competition will determine which two nominees remain on the block for Thursday night’s eviction.
Drew had appeared to be the house’s main target, but the vote was already beginning to shift. Lyric’s recent betrayal had damaged her position, while Melody could also become vulnerable depending on who wins safety.
Will the house follow through and evict Drew, or could Lyric or Melody become the next person sent home?
The answer will come on Thursday night.
