Big Brother 28 Premiere Recap: Time Travel Twist Delivers a Wild Start

Big Brother 28 officially kicked off with one of the most unpredictable premieres in the show’s history as 14 new houseguests entered a house built around the season’s Time Trip theme. From the moment host Julie Chen Moonves welcomed viewers, it was clear this season would be anything but ordinary.

After settling into their new home, the houseguests quickly learned that they wouldn’t be competing alone. The premiere introduced a series of surprise reality TV veterans, including Angela Murray from Big Brother 26, Rick Devens from Survivor, and Rachel Reilly, one of the most recognizable players in Big Brother history. Their arrivals immediately changed the atmosphere inside the house as everyone tried to figure out how the unexpected guests would affect the game.

The Time Trip twist then took center stage, sending players on a journey through different eras in a series of themed challenges. The premiere leaned heavily into science-fiction storytelling, combining strategy with over-the-top moments that left both the houseguests and viewers wondering what would happen next.

One of the night’s biggest surprises came when Rachel Reilly’s return was cut short during a dramatic prehistoric-themed sequence, leaving fans shocked and raising even more questions about how the Time Trip twist will continue throughout the season. Before the episode ended, another major tease hinted that Dee Valladares, the winner of Survivor 45, would soon become part of the game, setting up another twist for the episodes ahead.

Away from the twists, viewers also got their first look at the personalities and early relationships among the new houseguests. While some contestants immediately focused on building connections, others made it clear they were ready to play aggressively from day one. With alliances beginning to form and the first competitions already underway, the game has wasted no time getting started.

Although the television audience has only seen the premiere, the action inside the Big Brother house is already moving ahead. The first Head of Household has reportedly been crowned, nominations are approaching, and the Power of Veto competition isn’t far behind.

If the premiere is any indication, Big Brother 28 is shaping up to be one of the franchise’s most ambitious seasons, blending classic gameplay with unexpected twists that could reshape the competition at any moment. Fans can now look forward to the first nominations, live feeds, and even more surprises as the Time Trip adventure continues.
