After an emotional week in the “Big Brother” house, Head of Household Angela Murray finally got her wish. Matt Hardeman was evicted by a vote of 8-3 over Kenney Kelley on Thursday night. The 25-year-old from Roswell, Georgia was the first houseguest sent packing from Season 26.
“I came to play this game and try to represent something bigger,” Matt told host Julie Chen Moonves during his exit interview. “I hope you guys got to see, me being here, wasn’t just telling my story, it was telling my mom’s story.”
Matt had developed an early showmance with Makensy Manbeck, and Julie wanted to know what he whispered in Makensy’s ear as he left. “I said that our story’s not over,” Matt revealed. “When we get out of this house, I’ll find her and keep capitalizing on what we got to build in the house. I’m very thankful I got the honor to know her so well.”
From love to disdain, Julie turned the tables and asked how Matt managed to become Angela’s sworn enemy. “I don’t know,” he responded bluntly. “There could be areas for me to learn and grow, potentially, but I did not agree with how she treated me and what she said.” He continued, “I didn’t make an aggressive threat like she may have perceived. I kind of felt like that was game! If I get put up, the next week I’m gonna put you up. I did not mean to be threatening.”
