Big Brother host Julie Chen is breaking down her thoughts on the new cast for the upcoming season this summer.
For the 26th season of Big Brother, Chen expects viewers to return for high-stakes challenges, arising tensions, and potential “showmances.” Premiering each summer, romance is a make-or-break factor in the season’s quality. Each year, Chen hopes the seasons remain fresh and exciting. While this season will introduce new spins on challenges, Chen confirms the classics audiences know and love—like a Slip and Slide—will bring back long-time fans.
When asked about the cast, the host Julie Chen said “I love all the houseguests,” Chen admitted before the season 26 premiere.
A “perfect” lineup of houseguests may be subjective, but Chen has an opinion on what it takes to cast a memorable season: “Diversity. Different ages, different ethnic backgrounds from different parts of the country—maybe different parts of the world,” Chen shared in an interview for CBS.
Despite the differences between each contestant, Chen loves all the houseguests and challenges herself to see the good in each. She leaves room for houseguest redemption—even when viewers are against their mistakes.
