Big Brother 27 Winner Interview: Ashley Hollis — “I Could Win The Game Next To Vince, I Did”

She came, she strategized in the shadows, and in the end, Ashley Hollis emerged as the champion of Big Brother 27. On finale night, Ashley claimed the $750,000 grand prize, defeating Vince in the Final 2 after making the bold move to cut her longtime ally, Morgan.

It was a rollercoaster finish to a season packed with twists, but Ashley sealed her fate in Round 3 of the Final HOH. Despite having fewer competition wins throughout the summer, she delivered when it mattered most. By evicting Morgan—who was widely expected to sit in the Final 2—Ashley made one of the gutsiest decisions of the season and walked away with the victory.

A Historic Win

Ashley’s triumph came with a milestone: she became the first Big Brother US player ever to win her very first HOH and the last HOH of the season. That rare feat summed up her game perfectly—quiet and understated for much of the summer, but explosive when the moment called for it.

Her win also adds to the history books in another way: this marks the first time since Big Brother 4 that the show has seen back-to-back female champions. It’s been a long time coming, and Ashley delivered it in style.

The Right Move at the Right Time

For many fans, the finale brought relief from the all-too-common mistake of dragging a powerhouse to the end. Ashley wasn’t fooled. She knew Morgan’s record-breaking run of competition wins would have made her nearly unbeatable in a Final 2. Instead, Ashley trusted her instincts, cut Morgan, and took Vince—a decision that secured her the jury’s respect and the half-million dollar prize.

Mike Bloom’s Parade interview with Ashley – Read the full interview here:

Mike: When you evicted Morgan, you said you felt it was a toss-up next to Vince as opposed to her. And I can confirm to you that Morgan told Julie she would have taken you. So what did you think your chances were going into the jury deliberation?

Ashley: I actually thought my chances were really good. [Laughs.] I just didn’t want to say that publicly in front of Vinny. But I thought I could win the game next to Vinny. I did. I didn’t think it’d be 6-1, now. But I thought I could get four and he would maybe get three. I thought I had Rachel’s vote, Will’s vote, Ava’s vote, and then it was a toss-up between Keanu and Kelley. I thought maybe I could get one of their votes. But I wasn’t sure, because Keanu was really close with Vince in the house most of the game. But I also knew Keanu would respect a really big move, which was evicting Morgan, because he had been trying to do it himself for weeks, even trying to get her on that block. So I felt like my chances were really good next to Vinnie. But a landslide vote? I didn’t necessarily know that that was gonna happen.

Mike: I have to go back to the moment you tried to switch your vote during the live eviction. Tell me about everything that was going through your head during that moment.

Ashley: Oh my gosh. Okay, so in the moment, you guys probably saw I did want Jimmy to stay. I tried to work to get Ava’s vote and several other votes. And it wasn’t because I trusted Jimmy. I knew all the things he had said about me. But it was more about keeping a big target in the house. And I knew from Mickey making this move that he was going to go after other people that weren’t me, which is great for my game. And not only that, he was going to be a block spot every single week until he went home for everybody else in the house. Because even going on the block as a renom and that speech that Mickey gave, he was going to be one of the biggest targets in the house, and that would be a shield for me.

Ashley’s Legacy

Ashley Hollis now takes her place among the ranks of Big Brother champions. Her path wasn’t flashy or headline-grabbing until the very end, but her ability to seize the moment when it counted most defined her win.

A smart, decisive finale move capped off Ashley’s understated but powerful game—and proved once again that in Big Brother, it’s not about how many competitions you win, but about making the right choice when the stakes are highest.
