Big Brother 27 Spoilers: Week 9 Weekend Recap

The Big Brother 27 house has been in total chaos since Thursday’s episode, with a shocking elimination that kicked off the Jury phase and completely reshaped the game. Even without a Sunday broadcast, there’s been no shortage of drama leading into Tuesday’s show (8/7c).

The White Locust Twist

Houseguests were called to the backyard for a surprise elimination hosted by BB20’s Tyler. The comp involved a timed maze where each player had to beat the previous competitor’s time or face elimination. Ava, who earned the first pick, bizarrely chose Vince to start the chain—even though they have no alliance and she actively dislikes him.

From there, the picks continued: Vince chose Lauren, Lauren picked Morgan, and Morgan sent Rachel in. By the time Rachel competed, the timer was nearly impossible to beat, sealing her fate. Without a single vote or chance to campaign, Rachel was eliminated on the spot and sent to Jury—despite never being nominated or receiving a vote against her all season. A brutal exit after nearly two months of safety.

Head of Household

Once Rachel was gone, only the players who had already completed the maze were allowed to compete for HOH—effectively sidelining half the house from even having a shot at safety during Jury. Fans are already frustrated with the twist, and it’s easy to see why.

With the reduced field, Lauren pulled off her second HOH win of the season, putting her in a powerful position heading into Week 9.

Nominations

Lauren went the straightforward route with her nominations, putting Ashley, Morgan, and Will on the Block. It was especially tough for Ashley and Will, who never had the chance to play for HOH in the first place. Still, they had opportunities left with the Veto and the upcoming Block Buster battle.

Veto Competition

Lauren made it clear that Keanu was her renom plan if the Veto were used. Unfortunately for him, the draw kept him out of the competition, along with Kelley. Everyone else got to play in the return of the fan-favorite BB Comics challenge.

When the dust settled, Morgan pulled off her second straight Veto win, securing her safety once again. That left Keanu as the obvious replacement nominee, and unless Lauren makes a last-minute pivot, he’ll be joining Ashley and Will on the Block.

Looking Ahead

Thursday’s Block Buster showdown will determine who stays and who becomes the season’s second juror. Will is battling a leg injury from the Comics comp, while Ashley has already resigned herself to eviction if Keanu wins. Still, the outcome depends heavily on the competition format, so nothing is set in stone.

The Veto Ceremony arrives Monday, followed by the next episode Tuesday (8/7c). Then on Thursday (8/7c), another houseguest will head to Jury as the countdown to the Big Brother 27 finale on September 28th continues.
