This week in Big Brother 27 has centered around one big question — would Zach use his $10,000 “bribe” power to secure safety? The twist would allow him to hand the current HOH, Ava, $10K and remove himself from the block, forcing her to name a replacement nominee. The catch? The power expires once the jury phase begins.
We still don’t know if this season will have a seven- or nine-member jury, though recent years have stuck with seven. If that pattern holds, Zach has just two more evictions before his advantage disappears; if it’s nine, he has four. Either way, time is ticking — but Zach decided to hold onto it.

Until now, he hasn’t shared much about that choice. But on Monday night, we finally got an answer.
Zach quietly told Morgan that he could have used the power to save himself but chose not to because he feared she would be the replacement nominee. “I didn’t want to see you and Vince on the block,” he explained, adding that if anyone else had been in danger, he would have used it.
Morgan pushed back, insisting she would have stayed even if she went up, but Zach said he wanted to protect her. He emphasized that she’s the person he trusts most in the house — his number one — and wanted her to know so no one could twist his intentions.
This revelation could have major game implications. Morgan had been weighing whether to vote Zach out over Vince, partly because others saw Zach’s close bond with Lauren as a threat. Now, with this gesture of loyalty, Morgan may not only keep Zach but also rally votes to save him.
It’s a smart social move — but a risky strategic one. Passing on guaranteed safety could come back to haunt him. If the house flips, Zach might regret letting that $10K lifeline sit unused.
