Julie Chen Moonves, the host of Big Brother season 25, believes that Cameron has a good chance to win the competition, but she’s rooting for Cirie now that her son, Jared Fields, has been evicted.
After being eliminated in the Big Brother week 8 double eviction, Cameron and Jared returned as zombies during Scary Week in an attempt to revive their games. Jared was sent home, leaving his mother, Cirie, in an untenable spot without him. Cameron, however, won the Do or Die competition and has since returned to the house.
In an interview with EW, Julie revealed that she thought Cameron’s idea to spend Big Brother 25‘s Scary Week trying to rebuild his relationships with his fellow houseguests was “smart but also pretty confident of him! He’s always one step ahead and covering all his bases. He’s got a good shot at taking this all the way!” However, Julie also shared that she thinks Cirie, who’s been Cameron’s target in the past, will be “just fine” now that Jared has been evicted. She explained, “She did Survivor four times and won The Traitors. Now she won’t have the distraction of keeping his game safe. I’m rooting for her!”
Julie went ahead to weigh in on what led to Jared’s downfall in the game and said, “Jared was good but very young. He played a bit too hard and too fast. His young energy got him into trouble. He needed to practice more mature patience.” Julie also shared that she was surprised and “moved” by how emotional Jared was when he cried during his exit interview with her. She added, “I wanted to hear more about what was behind those tears. Regret? Sorrow? Fear for his mom’s safety in the game?”
Julie is right that Jared played his game like a young person. At 25 years old, Jared was one of the youngest contestants in the Big Brother 25 house. He was fiercely competitive but made mistakes because he often played with his emotions. His showmance with Blue Kim clouded his judgment, along with always having to protect his mom, Cirie. The game was becoming more and more difficult for him, and it was apparent that he was losing hope during the Resurrection Rumble game. It almost seemed like a relief for him when he was evicted and let all of his emotions out.
Although Cirie began the game in a perfect position, it’s become harder for her to keep the target off of herself. Without Jared to protect her by winning competitions, she will have to do it on her own, and she hasn’t won any yet.
