“Big Brother 25” fans, get ready for a game-changing jury announcement in next week’s live eviction episode on Thursday, September 14 (at a new time of 8/7c). Host Julie Chen Moonves teased the news at the end of the September 7 live hour, following the eviction of Red Utley and the crowning of Cameron Hardin as the new Head of Household for week 6. “I’ll have a big announcement for the houseguests that will affect this year’s jury,” she said ominously. Remember, kids, this is “Big Brother,” where the motto is “expect the unexpected.”
Julie, aka Blue Kim‘s fellow “Denim Diva,” has hosted “Big Brother” since Season 1 in 2000. She appears in every live episode to oversee the eviction, interview the eliminated contestant and host the HOH competition (when there is one). The jury, which was first created in Season 2, consists of recent voted-out players who collectively decide which of the Final 2 houseguests should win the grand prize money.
“Big Brother 25” fans on social media are already theorizing what the big twist could be, with a popular guess being that this season’s jury will be reverted back to seven members, as it was in the early years. The more recent seasons have included a whopping nine jurors. And what if Julie drops a bombshell that America (the country, not the person) will get to have a vote on the jury?
Another strong possibility is the return of the “Battle Back” competition, where jurors compete to re-enter the game as a full-fledged player. Or perhaps, for the first time ever, Julie could be about to reveal that “Big Brother” will have a Final 3 (like “Survivor”) this year, instead of a Final 2.
My favorite suggestion by far is that there won’t be a jury house this summer, and that evicted players will live in the regular “Big Brother” house where they can see and hear everything in real time. They simply wouldn’t be eligible to play in competitions or cast votes, etc. Imagine the drama that would ensue when the person just voted out strolls right back into the house!
As of this writing, just 12 people remain in the running to win the $750,000 grand prize: America Lopez, Blue Kim, Bowie Jane, Cameron Hardin, Cory Wurtenberger, Felicia Cannon, Izzy Gleicher, Jag Bains, Jared Fields, Matt Klotz, Mecole Hayes and Cirie Fields. Who do YOU think will ultimately prevail?
