Big Brother 28 host Julie Chen Moonves is weighing in on some of the biggest moves of the season, including Rick Devens’ risky decision to volunteer for the block, Haley’s elimination, Lala’s eviction and Dee’s current position in the game.
Speaking exclusively with Entertainment Weekly, Julie praised Barrett for the move that ultimately helped send Haley out of the house. Barrett chose Yash to compete against Haley in the final round despite pushback from the Crossovers, a decision Julie viewed as a smart one.

She also defended Dee’s decision to save Devens, pointing out that Devens had previously used the Diamond Power of Veto to save her. From Julie’s perspective, Dee almost had to return the favor to maintain appearances inside the house.
But Julie was much less comfortable with Devens volunteering to go on the block.
Devens survived by winning the BB Block Buster, but had he lost, there was a real possibility he could have been evicted. Julie admitted the move could have gone down as one of the worst decisions of the season if things had played out differently.
Lala’s eviction also got an emotional reaction from the longtime host. Julie praised her run in the game, especially her victory in the iconic HOH Wall competition and the way she turned her own confusion into part of her strategy and personality in the house.
Meanwhile, Julie is not ready to crown Dee as the likely winner.
When asked about Jay Mohr’s belief that Dee may be almost impossible to beat, Julie pushed back. She pointed to Dee’s growing target and the fact that several potential jurors may not be especially fond of her.
That could become a major problem if Dee reaches the final two.
With Barrett now in power and the Icons/Vets suddenly facing serious pressure, Dee’s path to the end may be far less secure than it appeared just days ago.
Big Brother 28 continues to prove that even the strongest players can see their games change quickly — and as Julie reminded viewers, anything can still happen before finale night.
