Big Brother 28 Week 7 just took another turn after LaTrice “LaLa” won the Power of Veto, guaranteeing herself safety and forcing Head of Household Dee to make another decision about who will sit on the block.
Dee originally nominated Drew, Taylor and LaTrice, but LaTrice’s Veto victory means those nominations will not remain intact. LaTrice is expected to use the Veto on herself at the upcoming ceremony, leaving Dee responsible for naming a replacement nominee.
And judging by the conversations taking place after the competition, Mallory may be the houseguest in the most danger.
LaTrice Saves Herself When She Needed It Most
LaTrice entered the Veto competition knowing that her position in the house had become increasingly uncertain.
Rather than relying on votes or promises from other houseguests, she took matters into her own hands and won the competition. The victory is particularly significant because it is LaTrice’s second competition win of the season, following her earlier Head of Household victory.

That HOH win also attracted attention after LaTrice, at 58, became the oldest houseguest to win the regular Big Brother Wall competition. Her latest victory is now fueling another conversation among fans: LaTrice may be becoming a bigger competition threat than many originally expected.
Reaction online was overwhelmingly enthusiastic after the Veto result was revealed. Some fans jokingly began referring to her as a “comp beast,” while others pointed out that she now has multiple competition victories while several remaining houseguests are still searching for their first.
Mallory Emerging as Dee’s Possible Replacement Nominee
The bigger impact of LaTrice’s win could be what happens next.
Before the Veto competition was even played, Devens had already begun pitching Mallory as a potential replacement nominee and eviction target. He discussed the idea with Angela and Dee, arguing that Mallory’s position in the middle of the house could make her dangerous later in the game.
Once LaTrice won the Veto, those conversations intensified.
Dee discussed putting Mallory on the block with Haley, who supported the idea, while Angela had also previously backed Devens’ plan. At one point, Dee appeared to settle on Mallory as her preferred replacement nominee and potential target.
LaTrice herself later told Dee that she would be comfortable seeing either Mallory or Melody nominated and evicted this week.
Nothing is official until the Veto ceremony, however, and plans in the Big Brother house can change quickly.
LaTrice’s Veto Could Help Break Apart the Mosh Pit
There could also be consequences for the Mosh Pit alliance.
Dee had already created tension within the group by nominating Drew. If she now nominates Mallory, another person connected to the alliance structure, the group could become even more fractured.
The live-feed discussions suggest that several players are already questioning where their loyalties lie. Drew and Barrett have discussed concerns about the veteran players, while Mallory and Melody could have even more reason to reconsider their relationships if Mallory hits the block.
In that sense, LaTrice may have done much more than simply save herself.
Her Veto win could force Dee to expose another relationship, create a new enemy and potentially accelerate the collapse of one of the house’s alliances.
Fans Are Starting to Look at LaTrice Differently
Perhaps the most noticeable conversation coming out of the result is the changing perception of LaTrice’s game.
She has now shown that she can win very different types of competitions, and when her back was against the wall this week, she secured her own safety.
Fans reacting to the result praised her ability to actually deliver a competition victory when she needed one, with some comparing her résumé favorably to houseguests who have repeatedly played but failed to win.
That doesn’t necessarily mean LaTrice is suddenly controlling the house. Her relationships have been complicated, and she still has rebuilding to do with several players.
But Week 7 has given her something extremely valuable: another week in the game and another accomplishment on her résumé.
Now the attention turns to Dee.
If LaTrice removes herself from the block as expected, who will Dee nominate in her place — and will Mallory really become the new target?
With the Block Buster still capable of changing the final nominees before eviction night, Week 7 appears far from settled.
