Big Brother 28 has a new Head of Household, and this time the power belongs to Yash Patel. Following Chuk Anyanwu’s eviction Thursday night, the remaining houseguests competed for control of Week 6, with Yash emerging as the new HOH. His victory gives him safety for the week and, more importantly, the power to shape what could become another unpredictable round of the game.
Yash’s rise to power is especially notable considering how his season began. During Week 1, then-HOH Dee Valladares nominated Yash alongside Mallory Aurichio and Taylor Brown, and Yash was discussed as a possible early target. He survived that dangerous opening week and has since managed to remain in the game while larger alliances and bigger personalities battled for control. Now, just weeks later, he has gone from sitting on the block to holding the HOH key himself.

His HOH also arrives at a crucial moment in the season. Chuk was just sent home in a lopsided 9-1 eviction vote, while the once-powerful Tool Shed structure has continued to fracture. The former alliance included players such as Chuk, Haley, Kamu, Barrett, Drew, Dee, Angela and Rick Devens, but recent nominations, betrayals and shifting loyalties have created a much less predictable house.
That uncertainty could give Yash an opportunity to make a major move. Unlike recent HOHs who were heavily tied to the house’s biggest power structures, Yash could potentially use his position to strengthen his own relationships, force opposing groups to expose where they truly stand, or take a shot at one of the stronger players remaining in the game.
For now, Yash’s nominations and primary target have not been reliably confirmed, with early reports following the HOH competition saying house conversations would determine where he ultimately wants to go. That makes the next round of strategy talks particularly important as houseguests begin campaigning for safety and trying to influence his nominations.
After surviving the opening weeks and watching several alliances begin to fall apart around him, Yash finally has the chance to play the game from a position of power.
Who do you think Yash should nominate for eviction this week?
