The power structure in the Big Brother 28 house remained firmly intact on Sunday night’s episode as the dominant alliance secured yet another Head of Household win. While the outsiders hoped for a shift in momentum after Rome’s eviction, they were left disappointed as Kamu claimed HOH, Devens gained a powerful advantage, and Jason found himself at the centre of another backdoor plan.
The Rogue Vote Mystery Continues
The episode opened immediately after Rome’s eviction, with the house still trying to figure out who cast the rogue vote. Lyric worked hard to convince everyone she wasn’t responsible, while Angela and Devens ultimately believed her story.

Behind the scenes, however, Taylor admitted she was the one who flipped her vote. Rather than following the majority, she explained that she came into the game to play her own strategy and wasn’t interested in simply voting with the house. For now, though, she’s keeping that secret to herself.
Outsiders Hope for a Power Shift
After surviving the Block Buster competition, Jason was determined to build on his momentum by winning Head of Household. His goal was clear: take a shot at Devens and the alliance that has controlled the game since the season began.
Meanwhile, cracks continued to show within the dominant Toolshed alliance. Drew and Barrett privately agreed to watch each other’s backs after realizing they may not be as secure within the group as they once believed. Both suspected they were near the bottom of the alliance’s hierarchy.
Outside the alliance, frustration continued to grow. Many houseguests recognised that unless someone from their side won HOH, another week would likely slip away with little chance of changing the game’s direction.
Wrestling Trivia Decides the New HOH
This week’s Head of Household competition transported the players back to 1985 with a wrestling-themed challenge featuring the return of Big Brother favourite Jessie “Mr. Pectacular” Godderz.
Rather than testing physical strength, the competition focused on memory. Houseguests watched wrestling clips before answering a series of true-or-false questions. One wrong answer meant elimination, while the last player standing would become the new Head of Household.
Players were eliminated quickly:
- Taylor and Dee fell after the opening question.
- Chuk, Drew, Angela, Melody and Jason exited in round two.
- Haley was eliminated on question three.
- LaTrice followed on question four.
- Lyric, Mallory, Yash and Barrett all missed question five.
That left Kamu as the winner, giving the same side of the house control for a third consecutive week.
Early Strategy Talks
With HOH secured, conversations immediately shifted toward nominations.
Angela and Dee compared notes about Drew, questioning whether he could have been responsible for the rogue vote. They briefly considered targeting him but quickly recognised that Kamu’s alliance with Drew, known as The Handymen, made that option unrealistic.
Elsewhere, Mallory suggested nominating Jason alongside the Survivor players, arguing they were the most likely to receive future BB Time Capsule powers.
Lyric also met with Kamu, hoping to distance herself from the fallout surrounding Rome’s eviction. Kamu reassured her she wasn’t in danger, although that promise wouldn’t last long.
Devens Wins the Diamond Power of Veto
The episode also revealed the latest BB Time Capsule result.
After fans voted him into the competition, Devens earned the coveted Diamond Power of Veto. The powerful advantage allows its holder not only to remove a nominee from the block but also to personally name the replacement nominee, giving them enormous influence over eviction week.
Devens immediately shared the news with Dee, but the pair agreed to keep the power a secret from the rest of the house—including Angela.
Jason Becomes the Backdoor Target
As nomination plans developed, Kamu initially intended to nominate Jason directly. Drew, however, proposed repeating the same strategy used against Rome by leaving Jason off the block and attempting a backdoor later in the week.
Kamu embraced the idea but still needed three initial nominees. While he had previously promised Lyric safety, those assurances quickly disappeared as she was ultimately chosen to serve as a pawn.
At the nomination ceremony, Kamu placed Lyric, LaTrice and Mallory on the block, leaving Jason as the intended replacement nominee if the veto plan unfolds successfully.
Final Thoughts
Episode 8 reinforced one clear storyline: despite growing frustration among the outsiders, the balance of power remains firmly in the hands of the same alliance. Kamu’s HOH victory extends that control into a third straight week, while Devens’ Diamond Power of Veto adds another dangerous weapon to their arsenal.
With Jason positioned as the primary backdoor target and one of the strongest powers in Big Brother history now secretly in play, the coming veto competition could have major consequences for the rest of the season.
