Casting for Big Brother 28 is officially underway, as CBS has announced that online applications are now open. According to the casting team, application reviews are expected to begin in early February 2026, so now is the time to apply if you’ve ever dreamed of becoming a Houseguest.
As in recent seasons, all hopefuls must apply through the official CBS Big Brother casting website. The process is straightforward and includes the following steps:
Step 1: Watch a short video from casting director Jesse Tannenbaum, where he explains what the casting team is looking for.
Step 2: Record your audition video. You can upload a prerecorded submission or record it live through the site. While live recordings are allowed, rehearsing and submitting a polished video is strongly recommended.
Step 3: Upload a recent photo of yourself along with your video submission.
Step 4: Complete the official online application — and then comes the hardest part: waiting to hear back.
For those hoping to attend live, in-person casting calls, there’s still a possibility CBS may host some events this year. A decade ago, open calls were held all over the country, but in recent years they’ve become less common and haven’t fully returned. If you’ve never been to one, they can be a fun and memorable experience. Even as a spectator, attending an open call offers a behind-the-scenes look at the casting process.
Before applying, be sure to review the eligibility requirements, which are fairly extensive. At a minimum, applicants must be 21 years old and U.S. citizens. One interesting rule: you can’t be running for public office. Presumably, appearing on national television could be considered campaign promotion — so maybe save that congressional run for another year.
