Big Brother 27 viewers are up in arms after fan-favorite Rachel Reilly was abruptly eliminated in a production twist that blindsided both the houseguests and the audience.
Evictions typically happen live on Thursdays, followed immediately by Julie Chen Moonves’ interview with the evicted houseguest. But this week, producers broke tradition. On Friday, the live feeds went dark, and when they returned on Saturday, Rachel was gone. The episode wasn’t even shown until Tuesday, after Sunday’s broadcast was preempted by the Video Music Awards.

Adding to the controversy, Rachel wasn’t evicted through the usual house vote. Instead, a surprise safety chain competition sealed her fate, leaving her as the odd one out.
Viewer Backlash
Fans have been vocal about their frustration, calling the decision unfair to both Rachel and the integrity of the game.
“Absolute unrecoverable fumble. How did production think this was a good idea?” one fan wrote on an online forum.
Another added on X: “We better get a jury battleback holy fk!!! Worst episode so far of #BigBrother! Whyyyyy.”
On Instagram, Big Brother’s official page was flooded with angry comments demanding answers. One fan wrote: “We want to know what happened to @rachelereillyvillegas.” Another joked bitterly: “Can’t wait to see the goodbye messages for Rachel… oh wait.”
Others claimed this twist had ruined the season altogether. “In the nine years I’ve been watching this show, I’ve NEVER seen a twist compromise the integrity of the game like this one,” one longtime viewer commented. Another bluntly declared: “Won’t be watching anymore!”
Some fans also speculated that Rachel’s eviction might not be permanent, since her exit was never fully shown, nor did she receive the traditional Julie Chen interview. “All the promos are making it seem like Rachel could come back,” one fan theorized. “Production knows they messed up.”
What’s Next
CBS has not yet confirmed if Rachel will appear Thursday for a live chat with Julie, followed by another eviction later that night. For now, the race for the $750,000 grand prize continues with the remaining eight players: Ashley Hollis, Morgan Pope, Vince Panaro, Ava Pearl, Keanu Soto, Kelley Jorgensen, Lauren Domingue, and Will Williams.
